Wake up call about diabeties.?

I got very ill a while back, i had fell in my home almost 2 years ago, after that i had pain develop in my lower, back, back of thigh, and back leg down to my foot, at the time i did not know what it was, the pain became horrific, after about 6 to 8 months i was having numbing, stinging, sharp, ichy pains in the soles of my feet and toes only i could not set, i could not stand, and if i got in bed it was 30 mins i decided to go to doctor he examines me good heard my symtoms and told me i most likely had sciatica nerve damages that all my symtoms fit the pain, i am over weight i know this, he told me that diabeties, also can contribute to same such pain whice i could easly develope over some time from this same problem due to nerve damage/ poor circulation and a host of other health problems that was my wake up call! i knew i always felt sluggishm weak, sleepy, and had know energy to get from bed , and clean my home do anything even cook food for my husband, my mother had diebeties i saw how are feet turned blackish purple, from poor circulation, and how she suffered so badly itchy dried skin, thinning hair, nausea, and a host of other elements so here few years back my eldest sister have now been diagnosed also and her son, iam so scared so i started a diet plan for my self i now have cut out fatty foods, no sweets, no suger are grease, nothing fried, no dairy products whice they say dairy products are the worst enemy of diabetics( like ice cream) etc,, i dont drink alcohol, are smoke i stopped eating eggs whice i loved fried egges in the morning and buttered toast and glass of milk now i eat in the morning one piece of dried toast, and a egg white only not the yellow part of the egg any more i try drink 8 fliud oz oF water every hour as indicated no juice any more cause beleive it are not juice ARE not good for a diabetic at all i have cut my diet down to about 900 calories aday i have for lunch one small peice of chicken breast, green salad fresh fruits and same for dinner cause eating to much junk foods and just plan eating to much over works the kidneys whice will make the not work properly when do i out to eat i choose small portions if the right foods to eat you can train your self to eat healthy and eat small portions also i just decided i did not wont to be like my mother she loved to eat and she would not give it up but i still loved my mother so much, but if u ever seen some one suffer with the desease you will change also. also should make a good excercise plan even as simply as walking for 30 to min to 1 hour is good help circulation also my husband is into yoga so each day we do yoga and i do some sort of spine excercise in the beginning its torture but later u will be happy you did it to helps u bend easy. so the reason i am writing all this infromation here is to get to people thats also had a wake up call and is trying to change their lifes so if anyone knows any forums online dealing with weight lost/ diabeties please send your information to me would be gladly appreciated right now i weight about 220 my goal is to start with losing about 45 pounds so would be helpful to have someone on my side on here i can talk with cause dieting is not easy ecspecially when ur giving up all your favorites and i use to enjoyin eating its so hard makes u want to cry but i am determine and my husband supports me also 100% anyone esle have any similer stories please dont hesistate to share i need all the encouragement i can muster, thanks so much will be looking forward to reading some good comments, and some more stories like mine wheither it be male are female all welcomed thanks and a GOD BLESS!.

You haven't even been diagnosed with diabetes.It could be a thousand other things.
After you have been diagnosed then you can see a dietitian for a diet plan that works best for you.

We went to Pompeii last month. Plan on spending most of the day. It's fascinating to walk around and explore--I suggest getting a good guidebook or purchasing the audio tour at the entrance. And, as someone else mentioned, a hat and bottle of water are essential--it can be very hot and there's not a lot of shade!! And perhaps a picnic lunch, since the food prices are pretty outrageous!

If you really enjoy Pompeii, you might consider visiting the Museo Archaeologico in Naples, which has a lot of objects that were removed from Pompeii.

When should I exercise?

I walk 30 minutes to work and back every day except Sunday. I have to leave home by 7-30am and don't get back until 5-30 - 6-00pm. I need to get in better shape and have the wii fit at home as well as my fitness coach, but I do not know what time is best. I don't like mornings so struggle to get up to do the work out before work, but often feel to tired at the end of the day to do it. If I do get up even earlier, should I eat breakfast before or after the work out (and then walk to work)? As I work in an office, I do not want to turn my walk into a run so I am sweaty once there, and the way home is all down hill! I plan on the fitness coach on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, as well as wii fit each day.
I am currently about 15stone (210lbs) and 5'6, and have a fairly healthy diet, which I will be improving on.

The United States dollar took another pounding on German, French and British exchanges this morning, hitting the lowest point ever known in West Germany. It has declined there by 41% since 1971 and this Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least-appreciated people in all the earth.

As long as sixty years ago, when I first started to read newspapers, I read of floods on the Yellow River and the Yangtse. Who rushed in with men and money to help? The Americans did.

They have helped control floods on the Nile, the Amazon, the Ganges and the Niger. Today, the rich bottom land of the Misssissippi is under water and no foreign land has sent a dollar to help. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy, were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of those countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When the franc was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When distant cities are hit by earthquakes, it is the United States that hurries into help... Managua Nicaragua is one of the most recent examples. So far this spring, 59 American communities have been flattened by tornadoes. Nobody has helped.

The Marshall Plan .. the Truman Policy .. all pumped billions upon billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now, newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent war-mongering Americans.

I'd like to see one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplanes.

Come on... let's hear it! Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tristar or the Douglas 107? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all international lines except Russia fly American planes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or women on the moon?

You talk about Japanese technocracy and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy and you find men on the moon, not once, but several times ... and safely home again. You talk about scandals and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everyone to look at. Even the draft dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, most of them ... unless they are breaking Canadian laws .. are getting American dollars from Ma and Pa at home to spend here.

When the Americans get out of this bind ... as they will... who could blame them if they said 'the hell with the rest of the world'. Let someone else buy the Israel bonds, Let someone else build or repair foreign dams or design foreign buildings that won't shake apart in earthquakes.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. I can name to you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble.

Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbours have faced it alone and I am one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles.

I hope Canada is not one of these. But there are many smug, self-righteous Canadians. And finally, the American Red Cross was told at its 48th Annual meeting in New Orleans this morning that it was broke.

This year's disasters .. with the year less than half-over… has taken it all and nobody...but nobody... has helped.

The U.S. didn't help us after our earthquake. When i say the U.S. i refer to their government. All they have done to my country is make is worse. They bombed our ports in Corinto, they killed over 30,000 of my people, they sold weapons to Iran (and smuggled drugs to L.A.) in order to fund their illegal war, they came into my barrio (neighborhood) and raped woman while they shot the men in front of them in the streets, they committed human right violations, they killed the poor people in the countryside because they thought they were "communist", they backed and supported a DICTATOR who ruled my country for over 3 generations. Those dictators forced people to work and paid them absolutely nothihng, when they were in power the illiteracy rate was over 50% and after the revolution the Sandinistas brought the illiteracy rate from 50% down to 13% in only 3 months.

The U.S. is a disgrace, they have a high poverty rate, their economy will tumble and i hope they go through another depression, i want the world to place an economic embargo against them as they have done to other countries, only chaos will come when you people have to use your little resources to ration off food to over 300million people. Those in the government are are corrupt money embezzlers.

I've just gotten the news from my uncle that they won't be in town for Christmas this year because my cousin which is their son has bought plane tickets to go to Italy for Christmas. Every year since 2007 my cousin would come home to my uncle's house and we would get together and have some family fun. But this Christmas won't be the same like all the other years. I'm 19 years old and i am single and i have never dated and i barely have any relatives where i live except my uncle. Sometimes i just wished i could have a girlfriend or a wife to have someone to be with for Christmas. I still live with my parents but we only have 4 people in my household and sometimes i get lonely during the holidays. I don't why but it just feel so bad that knowing this Christmas won't be the same. What could i do so i can cope with this matter ? How could i get myself happier ?? I can't seem to feel happy anymore and i just feel suicidal.

I'm starting high school in exactly 42 days. I am 5' 6 and weigh 160. I want to weigh 110. So I have to lose about 9lbs a week! I know it's crazy but I really need to try. I am a personal trainer, and what you are doing is noble. You can do it, though not how you think. (1)Drink water and only water, about 2liters a day. No other liquids! (2) Cardio is your ultimate weapon, I know running is hard, maybe even impossible, but try to run/jog/walk for 45mins to 1hr a day. Yahoo:fartlek training. (3) Never starve yourself!! (you get abs in the kitchen...not the gym) Eat right...not light....love your veggies and fruits, and don't skip meals, make lunch your biggest and dinner your smallest. If you can go vegetarian for the next 42 days it will help. (4) Sleep, sleep at least 8hrs a night. (5) Learn to love yourself at the weight you are at now. I have helped many people lose more weight than what you are looking to lose and I know one thing for sure. If you do not find satisfaction in yourself now, than you will never be satisfied no matter how good you look. (this is the hardest step, believe me!)

i beg to differ...he doesnt keep his email address private or he hasnt b4 at least. last i heard you can find it on http://www.drakebell.com. of course that was before they changed the site but it should still be there.

I wanna lose about 30 lbs. I'm 140 lbs and 5'2" and my goal is to be at 110 - 117 by the holidays (so I can gain it all back hahahaha XD)

Here is my usual exercise/activity plan
After school/before dinner I have two options that I do:

1. This may sound silly, but my sibling and I like to pretend we're performing on stage like a band or something, and we just sing along to songs, but I do alot of running, jumping and dancing. It;s usually about an hour to an hour and 20 mins we do that, and I don't jump and stuff the whole time, I gotta catch my breath a little and all.......so it's probably around 30 - 45 minutes of that.....(it's fun so I'm more likely to do it and not get too bored or anything)

Or:

2. 45 minutes of cardio..........i usually do some on my bike and treadmill, mixing it up daily.......i may also start doing intense DDR on some days too. since I can't increase how long I do it, after two weeks of my normal speed on my, let's say my bike for an example, (30 - 36m) i'll increase my speed a little bit.

I'll do that Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun

And then on Tues, Thurs and Sat:

I'll do my "concert" routine after school, and after dinner I'll do 30 minutes of strength training with things like:

Squats (i'll be doing different types, increasing reps every week)
Walking lunges (50 on each leg, increasing by 15 each week)
Pilates (I'll be doing different pilate routines for abs)
Push-ups (various types, also increasing reps)
Planks (various moves)

Etc etc

I'm also thinking about adding 30 minutes of cardio after dinner on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun....
I normally always do the concert routine after school, and 30 mins cardio after dinner though

And an example of what I plan on eating:

Breakfast:

My breakfast will be either:

1. Frozen raspberries or some fruit or of some sort with two strips of vegetarian bacon wrapped around a little bit of lettuce with some mixed vegetables in the lettuce (sounds weird, but it's good) and a glass of skim milk and some green tea

2. Fruit and a whole wheat bagel with a serving of peanut butter, and skim milk and green tea

Snack 1: Fruit or carrots

Lunch, also a few different things I eat:

1. A vegetable burger on a whole wheat bagel with lettuce and mustard and either a piece of fruit (probably an apple) or some vegetables with it

2. Vegetarian fajitas made with tofu, carrots, onion and bellpepper, whole wheat tortilla shells and low fat monzarella cheese

3. A vegetable stir-fry made with tofu, potatoes, and other sorts of vegetables and maybe some fruit with it

Snack 2: Vegetables, probably carrot

Dinner: Either a large salad with cooked tofu or a fruit salad

Snack 3: If I need one, it will be fruit

And on my weekly cheat day I will eat a Skinny Cow brand of diet ice cream, 120 calories per serving (it's an ice cream bar so I don't serve it myself)

Calorie count for some of these foods:

Vegetarian morning star brand of bacon - 60 calories per serving (one serving is two slices
Veggie Burgers, also morning star - 110 calories
Wheat Bagels - 110 calories
Wheat Tortillas - 120 calories

And my green tea doesn't have any sugar in it.
I'm a vegetarian, and I don't eat fish or eggs, or chick peas, or lentils or beans.

I'll be drinking 3 liters of water a day, and eating about 1300 calories.

Does this sound good?

Why do so many health freaks rant that sugar is so detrimental and bad for you even if seldomly used?

I dont understand it. I eat fairly healthy, I exercise, I dont eat tons of fatty, salty, oily, sugary foods and I have a decent metabolism ,not overweight, im fairly muscular and in shape....

Yet I hear all of these health nuts saying that ALL sugar is bad and should be completely cut out of your diet. Why is that?

I dont really drink soda, or coffee or energy drinks either but a few candy bars every now and then is supposed to be bad for me?

Is kinda hard to escape sugar intake too, I mean its in alot of things even if its not by the name of "sugar" do I really need to take these nut-cases advice and spend 3 hours resarching online and reading labels and ordering special foods and going to tons of different stores just to get my food before I buy a handful of groceries?

Youd think that if sugar were in alot of foods that it would be ok to have a seldom amount and it ok to be used sparingly.

Is that the straight up truth or is this mis-information ? or an exaggeration directed towards overweight peole, people who eat unhealthy and lazy people?

Ok,here`s the thing.Sugar has a high glycemic index factor which means when taken regularly and in high doses,it can be detrimental to your health because it pushes your body to extremes,especially if you`re overweight.It is also a carb which is empty calories,meaning it has no nutritional qualities.
One trick I`ve found is that I never take high glycemic index foods alone,but rather with protein.See,the protein curbs the "sugar rush" you get from eating straight high GI carbs,and makes it much steadier.
Lastly,if not careful,it rots teeth,but I`m sure you knew that one.I have been consuming high doses of sugar for years,if only in my coffee,and have a fast metabolism,and I`m still healthy but,not everyone`s the same so,with this knowledge in mind,the rest is up to you.

Well, first of all, I love this girl, even though I get a no, I'd get back up and like her again... I hate watching her do wrong, so please help and read this ALL through; and by the way, we're both 14
So there is this girl that I really like, but I have no idea what she is thinking, at times, I reckon she doesn't like me, but at other times, I am nearly 100% sure she likes me.
She stares at me a lot, and nearly every class we have together; I see her looking at me, yesterday, when I walked across the hall, my buddy said that my crush was looking at me, but I didn't look back, and he said that she looked apologetic?
Yesterday was the last day of the term, and my whole class took a picture; the picture was put onto myspace and I can swear she was looking at me, the angle and degree she was looking at was directed at me, she was also smiling in the picture, but her eyes were looking straight at me, behind me were a bunch of girls, but I doubt she would look at them.
A couple of weeks back, she asked me to walk with her, so I did, however, i stayed silent the whole walk, and I could've sworn she was about to say something. During our walk, her friends were infront and a couple were behind.
Last week, her friend came up to me and asked me "Are you angry at [crushes name]?", and what's surprising is that I thought she was angry at me; and what's even more surprising is the fact that i'm pretty sure girls don't care what others think of them if they don't like him.
Whenever we walk pass each other or near each other, she and I always get nervous; why does she get nervous? I mean, I only get nervous because I like her, but why does she? We walk pass each other alot in the hall, and I always look away, and so does she.

When people talk about who she claims to like and tease her around me, she would punch them, however, when i'm distant, she doesn't care, but she does give a smile that says "shut up, or i will kill you"
She has claimed that i'm a flirt many times with the reason "He talks with every girl but me" which is true, but I never would have thoguht that she cared if I talked with her.
So yesterday, I was about to talk everything out with her, get everything back to normal, but I didn't, heres why; I told two people I was going to talk to her because they were bugging me, one was my best friend and I swear my life that he wouldn't betray me like that, and the other is a girl that I swear has a crush on me; she told her friends, and they ALL kept secret and I can assure all of you that; but when my crush found out about it, she started spreading it to the people i'm close to; she said to each person, "I wouldn't go out with [My name]", but what hit me in the face is: why would she tell anyone if she hated me? wait, why would she hate me? majority of her friend's have a small or big crush on me, and many other that aren't also do too; I can imagine why she would not like me, but not the hate bit.
I spent most of yesterday trying to find out who told her, and to my surprise it was the girl I originally told, the only girl I told; and to back it up, I have her close friends evidence. I, myself, asked her "Do you know who told [my crushes name] that I was gonna talk to her?" and she replied with a guilty face "No."
I'm not a selfish person, and majority of my buddies usually come to me for help; I have never gone out with a girl, but majority asked me if I would choose them, but I said no.

So i just began watching this show, im in the middle of season 2 and am addicted! So far there are 2 things i can't quite wrap my head around to understand completely..

First, how come Brian & Michael never have sex or date each other if they love each other so much & that seems to be what Michael wants because he's in love with Brian. Whenever Brian wanted to have sex, Michael said no. But yet they still kiss each other and we can clearly see they love one another. Are they afraid of what might happen to their friendship if they do become a couple?

Second, what exactly about Justin made Brian change and start to fall in love with him/date him. Brian couldn't deal with Justin being so attached in the beginning & seem annoyed by him. As the season went on, he seemed to always protect him and break all his rules for Justin. What was it about Justin that made Brian change, like if Justin could do it why couldn't Michael? Thanks!

So this girl who I am totally nuts about gave me her number a week ago. She knows I liked her, but I have given up on being with her that way, respect that she just wants to be friends. Diet pills are a waste of money, don't work, and some are actually bad for you with nasty side effects. No pill, potion or supplement will help. Please don't fall for all the spam adverts you see. Most of the sites are scams and people have lost a lot of money ordering these products on line with the so called "free trials".

My neighbor has bought something on eBay but says his card is not accepted, he knocked on my door and asked me to use my credit card and he will give me cash.

I've lived here for a year, he has knocked on my door a few times but mainly to tell me things that are happening in the building ie the main door having a lock put on, the painters coming to paint my door etc i think maybe he's some kind of supervisor? Or maybe just a busybody but anyway, we're not friends and I've never knocked on his door. I say hi to him when passing but thats it.

I quickly made a random excuse like "oh I can't use this card with paypal it's banned already" but I somehow admitted to having another active paypal account. I tried for a while pretending not to be able to log into it but he was just patiently waiting... so then I logged in but he couldn't find the guys paypal ID so he emailed him and will come knock on my door again when he replies.

when I got up I had a cup of coffee done with splenda..
breakfast: 1 fried egg no added fat with pam, 2 slices (thin by the way) of lite spam, 1 jalapeno, 1/2 roma tomatoe, and 2 corn tortillas.. my husband agreed to me that if I lose 40 lbs before the new year he will take me to one of the best beaches and he will give me 500.00 cash.. Okay so this is basically what happened...

I had sex on the last day of my period (18th December) and then about a week after that I had spotting for about 3 days. I got my next period on the 15th of Jan and it ended on the 21st of Jan. On the 18th of Jan I took a pregnancy test during my period because I was worried, it was negative. After taking the pregnancy test I found out you shouldn't really take a pregnancy test while on your period because it will most probably come back negative. I also had sex on the 15th and 21st of Jan.
Every time we had sex I made sure he wore a condom and I checked it carefully each time after intercourse to make sure that there was no split/hole in the condom. After I had sex on the 18th December, on the 19th December (the day after) I took my friends pill (not the morning after pill, it was her contraceptive pill which she said can also be used as a emergency contraceptive, but I don't think so.) I smoke and drink and a day or too after sex I threw up blood after drinking only a little bit when I normally don't after only a little bit. (alcohol.) I also had what feels like period pains. Also I had a bit of nausea feeling. Some of my other symptoms are: need for extra sleep, nausea, constant farting (smelly.), weird taste in my mouth, weight gain, hard stomach and feeling bloated. I was also punched in the stomach about 4 days after sex on the 28th December.
My theories were...
Taking my friends contraceptive pill caused the spotting because of the hormonal inbalance.
Weird taste in my mouth from not brushing my teeth that day.
Constant smelly farts from bad diet.
Throwing up blood because I got punched in the stomach.
Need for extra sleep because I have been stressed out lately.
Hard stomach and feeling bloated because needing the toilet.
Weight gain because of eating to much unnecessary.

I hope I am not pregnant and please don't say 'go to the doctor' because I don't want to go quite yet.
I hope I'm not pregnant or having/had implantation bleeding or a miscarriage. I definitely hope it's not implantation bleeding or pregnancy.
I plan to take another pregnancy test after my next period this month.

If you had your period on 15 January then you couldn't be pregnant from having sex in December!

It's highly unlikely that you would get pregnant from having sex on the last day of your period, as your next egg is probably not going to be in place. And if you used a condom, that should make it extra safe.

There are lots of possible explanations for the way you feel. You list some of them, stress is another one.

Pregnancy is the least likely reason.

I can't see the point in taking a pregnancy test during your period. A period means your egg is being wasted, so you aren't pregnant!

I'm 23 and weigh almost 200lb (90kg). I have a high chance of becoming a diabetic due to bad genes so I watch what I eat and I'm on a low GI diet and been on one for over a year. I got to gym almost every day and I'm on Phedra-Cut to help give my metabolism a kick-start. I still haven't lost any weight.
Also, had tests to see if my thyroid is working properly and it is.

Nonetheless, if you have "friends" your chances to find a good job increase. That's why many italians leave. We don't lack jobs in Italy. The problem is that those jobs are ALL TAKEN and inherited from dad to son and so forth.

I'm 18, 5'2 and currently weigh somewhere between 128-133. I've been on a 1200 calorie diet for the past 2 months and my beginning weight was 145. I exercise only about 30 minutes a day because I'm busy with school but I have been adding more vegetables and fruits to my diet and cut out most of the junk food. But even though the scale says I've lost about 12 pounds I am not noticing a difference. Is there any other way that I can reach my goal weight of 120 before the end of May?

1200 calorie diets rarely work, or they seem to work for a while but then backfire when you regain all the weight you lost because you sent your metabolism down the drain by eating under your BMR. You're not a 60 years old, 5'5 and 120lbs woman having a 1,200 calories BMR who would hopefully eat more to get energy for physical activities (as she would not need to lose weight at 120lbs). At your height (5’2), you would need to weigh only 102lbs and be at least 40 years old to have a 1200 calories BMR, and also in that case, would have to eat more for energy to exercise as you would not need to lose weight at 102lbs.

At your height and weight, you should notice a difference if you lost 12 pounds, like going down a dress size and losing about one inch on your measurements, at least feeling that your clothes fit better. Hopefully, you’re not developing a BDD (Body Dysmorphic Disorder) as you’re losing weight. Use a tape measure once a month (when you’re not bloated because of temporary water retention). If you lose an inch on your measurements, then you cannot deny it.

You surely did not lose 12 pounds in 2 months exercising 30 minutes a day. Each pound of body fat is 3,500 calories of exercising = 42,000 calories divided by 60 days = a daily average of 700 calories of exercising...more like 2 hours and not 30 minutes. So obviously, you lost weight because you did not eat enough.
You should eat enough calories to cover your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) or your body will adapt to a low caloric intake and lower your metabolism, making it very hard for you to use your body fat. And then, as soon as you would eventually start eating normally again, you would make body fat very easily, because you would have a lower metabolism and therefore regain all the weight you lost and keep going up, unless you exercise A LOT. Also, because you’re younger than 21, you need to eat more when having a growth spurt so you don’t stunt your growth (you get ravenous).

Women’s BMR:
655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - minus (4.7 x age in years)

Your BMR should be about 1,425 calories (female, 18 years old, 5’2 and 130lbs) but it’s probably lower by now if you’ve been eating only 1,200 calories for 2 months. I would advise you to start eating more right away as to stop your body from decreasing your metabolism further down.

Do not have a deadline. Let your body adopts its own rate...the slower the better anyway. Eat healthy; enough to cover your BMR (or your adjusted lower BMR, in your case) and then exercise for 3,500 calories for each pound of body fat that you wish to lose.

You should have a daily average of exercising of 30 minutes to maintain weight (and also for your cardiovascular system’s health), one hour to lose half a pound of body fat a week, and two hours to lose one pound of body fat a week. And that does not count in the warming up, the stretching, the cool down, the shower…it’s really about the exercising in your THR zone (Target Heart Rate).

Of course, people eating at a lot would still gain weight working out 30 minutes a day or not lose any weight working out one hour a day, which is the best to be at, once you’re fit and want to maintain your muscle mass to stay fit while not having to worry about your calorie intake.

You cannot exercise for less than four hours a week and then expect to be fit and thin the other 164 hours, especially if you do not eat enough. You might need time management. Do you read? Do you watch TV? Do you listen to music? You can do any of those activities while using a stationary bike, burning 400 calories/hour at a slow comfortable low impact fat burning intensity (12mph speed).

for the past few days i've been having really bad headaches and a few dizzy spells where i find myself almost falling and i have to catch myself from hitting the floor. today, for about 10 minutes i had a pain when ever i breathed. it was located in the middle of of my chest and kind of closer to my right lung. when i breathed in there was kind of a needle-pain. it hurt a lot and it was extremely hard to take a breath...but it was over in like 5-10 minutes. is there something wrong with me or am i just paranoid?

oh also, i do exercise daily. i play tennis everyday for about 2 1/2 hours and i've been eating regularly. i've lost a few pounds but it wasn't a drastic weight loss

Apparently GMO foods are causing disease and health problems across our country, but since GMO food is not labeled as such we don't pay attention. The following have been reported to come directly from eating this stuff that is in our grocery stores right now:

Infertility
Immune system problems
Gastrointestinal problems
Organ damage
Dysfunctional regulation of cholesterol and insulin
Accelerated aging

How could this be? a highly respected alternative health medical doctor Dr. Mercola wrote an article on this. He said:

"...one of the most obvious clues about the danger of GMO foods are that just about EVERY species of animal that is offered a GMO food versus a non-GMO food will avoid the GMO one. Many times they will do this to the point of starvation, as they have an intuitive sense of the danger of this food.

Europe banned a lot of the stuff, why haven't we? Russian scientists find third generation hamsters sterilized by GMO Soy. Using the same genetically modified (GM) soy that is produced on over 90 percent of the soy acreage in the US, the hamsters and their offspring were fed their respective diets over a period of two years, during which time the researchers evaluated three generations of hamsters. One we have been doing since man started farming thousands of years ago, and the other one is brand new, just a couple years old.

So tell me if you think the following are the same:

1.) Grow crops and take the seeds only from the plants that have more of the attributes you want (size, color, vitamins, etc). After doing this for several generations you can get a higher yield and better quality crops.

OR

2.) Take genes from various species of plants and animals, put them into gene guns, and blast millions of genes into a plate of millions of cells, and then clone the result into a plant. (This can cause hundreds or thousands of mutations up and down the DNA chain. Genes can be switched off, switched on permanently, or change their levels of expression – at random.)

Anyone who has ever taken a genetics course in college knows that DNA being shot out of a gun could potentially damage the DNA. Also, fundamental to the discipline is knowledge that just adding a gene to an organism can cause all kinds of things to go wrong - including turning on genes that were previously silent as well as turning others off that were beneficial.

GMO food is a real nightmare waiting to unfold. Apparently we don't have to worry though because Monsanto (the company who does genetic engineering on our food) says they did studies and GMO is not unsafe. Wow, that's not a conflict of interest...

Can you comment on this post please? Should there be a grass roots boycott on all GM food in the US? If we did there isn't a food producer that would continue to use GMO stuff.

so, i used to have a friend, but our friendship didnt really work out, so we stopped being friends. we have twitter and stuff so she indirect tweets about me and sometimes says things directly to me.

P90x and muscle gaining?

i currently weigh 180 at 6.2 and see myself as an ectomorph type. i have some muscular definition and my abs are visible however i am unhappy with the overall shape of my body in particular my shoulders, arms and upper chest which dont seem to grow no matter what i do in the gym. i change my routine every month, avoid cardio, yet still cant achieve the build i desire.

I want to weigh around 195 and be ripped. i have researched the p90x workout program and seen that it is primarily a weight loss program however the body shape achieved in the success stories have the exact proportion im seeking. i am thinking of doing the 90 days program substituting the yoga workouts for a heavy gym workout.

would i gain muscle mass by eating a lot more, taking a wider range of supplements, and substituting the yoga routine for a heavy weight session, yet still follow the p90x workout plan???

I'm with Tiktaalik on this, P90X is not primarily weight loss program, there are multiple versions of the P90X routines based on specific goals, but the end result is to take you from fit to super fit. The way it does this is by building strength, control, and flexibility, if you start messing with the program it will not work the way it's supposed to.

Going back to what you've posted. You're 6'2", 180lbs and an ectomorph but only have some muscle definition. You see this makes me think you may not be so much an ectomorph as you believe, and that your workouts while well intentioned may just not be intense enough.

I'm going to stop there, I really think you ought to have a session with a personal trainer because I think you may well be able to make significant changes just by getting some of your preconceptions out of the way.

Since you aren't a native English speaker, it'll be difficult for you to immediately pinpoint the differences in accents and whatnot until you've been immersed in them.

Take me for example. I can't tell the difference between the Sicilian dialect and the Northern ones, although many have told me they're practically two separate languages! They all sound Italian to me! I can recognize standard Italian, like what they teach in school, but the dialects? No way! I can't understand my Italian teacher when she speaks in her dialect from Alto Adige, and only know it sounds a bit more Germanic than Sicilian or standard, y'know?

If I lived in Italy, I'm sure I would begin to identify the subtle differences between the regions and the dialects, but now? lol! No way!

Well, do you have any American or British friends you can talk to? Perhaps you could get them together and compare their pronunciation of certain words and such, y'know? It's worth a shot.

So I went on a diet on the 10th of August and here is what it consist of

Plain Dannon Yogurt with Nature Valley granola bars and fresh strawberries for breakfast
Grilled Chicken Salad with Croutons and light ceasar dressing for lunch
Baked Drumstick with brown rice for dinner

Now sometimes I do substitute these meals with a bowl of special k cereal
and for the breakfast i use honey to sweetened the plain yogurt (it's pretty good that way) Oh Yeah I do exercise I have a bike that I ride for about an hour at a moderate speed. And I work 8hrs a day it mostly consist of walking the whole entire casino Lol but I think its good exercise, I also go to the gym about 3x a week. I plan on joining the Y to get some water aerobics exercise too

Cup of wholegrain/ fiber cereal or 3/4 cup cooked oat's with 250mL skimmed or 1% milk and 3/4 cup fresh berries with optional TSP- TBSP cinnamain/ nutmeg/ brown sugar/ artificale sweetener or honey.

Cup of plain greek yoghurt with 1/2 cup granola/ muesili and 1/4 cup unsalted nuts/ seed's with 1-2 added serving's of fruit (1/4 cup dried fruits, 1/2 cup fresh- frozen berries, 1/2 cup canned fruits or applesauce or medium fruit diced- chopped- banana/ apple/ etc ..)

Lunch: 3-4oz Grilled chicken breast, salmon, 3/4 cup beans/ chickpeas and- or lentil's or can of white albacore tuna with 1/4 cup shredded cheese (or 1/4 cup light feta- goat, 2oz cheese or 1/2 cup 1% cottage- lowfat ricotta) with 2TBSP light ceaser or TBSP olive oil and TBSP balsamic with added pepper and optional other vegetables added.

Snack: Cup of wholegrain/ fiber cereal or granola bar with optional yoghurt.

Dinner: 4-5oz Lean chicken- turkey/ lean pork/ lean red meat or fish with 1/2 cup brown- long grain rice/ couscous/ durham- wholewheat pasta or medium yam/ potatoe with 3/4 cup cooked vegetables in TBSP olive oil.

ok first off 10 pounds in 3 days is gonna make you wrestle horribly
the best and healthiest way is to lose 5-7 pounds and thats pushing it. If you want to lose all the water weight you have to work out with lots of layers and sweat a whole lot. You have to eat hardly anything the next few days. im talking about a granola bar for breakfast and 1 yogurt for lunch and a tiny piece of grilled chicken for dinner for the next few days. Dont forget to workout every night with layers after dinner as well as wrestling practice. On friday eat a granola bar for breakfast and lunch and nothing for dinner, and drink ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and on saturday morning dont eat or drink anything till weigh in
